What is llms.txt and does my website need one?

llms.txt is a proposed standard (llmstxt.org): a plain Markdown file at /llms.txt that tells AI systems what your site is and where its most useful pages are. It is cheap to add and can help AI agents that read it, but no major AI provider has said it uses llms.txt for ranking.

How

1. Create /llms.txt with your name, a one-paragraph summary and links to your key pages.
2. Keep it short, factual and in sync with your site.

Limits

• llms.txt does not replace robots.txt, a sitemap or good pages.
• Treat it as a helpful map for agents, not a ranking trick.
