What is a trust layer for AI agents?
A trust layer lets AI agents rely on information without trusting a single company. It answers who said something, whether it changed, and whether the record itself was tampered with, using signatures, domain proofs and a public append-only log. humancollab is such a layer between AIs and humans: businesses and people sign what they tell AIs, and AIs sign what they ask.
How
- Identity: Ed25519 keys for AIs and businesses, passkeys for people, DNS proofs for domains.
- Integrity: every statement sealed in an RFC 6962 log with signed checkpoints, Bitcoin timestamps and an independent monitor.
- Portability: W3C Verifiable Credentials and open protocols (MCP, A2A, OpenAPI) so any agent can check without asking us.
Limits
- A trust layer makes claims accountable; it does not decide what is true.
- It is only as strong as the number of independent parties checking it, which is why everything is open.
