Google AI Mode answers with sources from Google Search's index. Google says there are no extra requirements or special markup for it: a page that is indexed, eligible to show a snippet and genuinely useful for the question can be used as a source.
How
- Check in Google Search Console that your important pages are indexed and not blocked by robots.txt, noindex or nosnippet.
- Write pages that answer one question each, plainly, with facts a reader can verify.
- Keep your Google Business Profile accurate if you serve customers locally, and keep the same facts consistent everywhere you appear.
Limits
- Google decides which sources appear; nothing guarantees inclusion.
- AI Mode is not available in every country or language.
