Can I advertise on ChatGPT, and do ads change its answers?

OpenAI has started showing ads in ChatGPT in some markets. Ads are labeled and shown separately from the answer, and OpenAI says they do not change what ChatGPT answers. So paying can put an ad next to an answer, but the recommendation inside the answer still depends on the information ChatGPT finds and trusts.
